Here’s the second part of my M&S Beauty Advent Calendar 2018 review, following Part 1 earlier in the month.
Days 9-11
1 x 15ml REN v-cense revitalising night cream – Value £10.80 (50ml costs £36)
“Formulated to recharge, revitalise and intensively hydrate the skin overnight.” This is a handy trial size from REN that has some fantastic review on the website. Looking forward to testing it out.
1 x 50ml Percy & Reed perfectly perfecting wonder overnight recovery – value £6.66 (150ml costs £20)
“Wonder overnight recovery works to transform your hair while you sleep; nourishing, deep-conditioning and even helping to repair damage. Dreamy.” I’m going to try this out ASAP. It sounds like just what my hair needs. You apply to dry hair and leave overnight before washing it in the morning. It says it absorbs instantly so leaves no residue on your pillow.
1 x 30ml Nuxe luxurious body cream – value £6.75 (200ml costs £45)
“5 complete skincare actions: Nourishes, smoothes, helps improve elasticity, density and firmness.”
A luxurious anti-ageing body cream by Nuxe to pamper with and enjoy.
Days 12-14
1 x 100ml PIXI Rose Tonic Rose & Elderflower Nourishing Toner – Value £7.20
“Naturally soothing and rich in nutrients, this tonic helps to tone, balance PH, minimize redness and calm skin”
A decent half sized bottle of Pixi rose tonic. I’d been eyeing this up in Marks in the past because of its good reviews so am very happy to find it in this year’s calendar. Perfect
1 x 30ml The Hero Project Hyasoft Instant Moisture Boost – RRP £19
“Hit back against dull, dry skin with Hyasoft®, a non-sticky, fast-absorbing clear gel with vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid that leaves your skin looking and feeling smooth, springy and extremely soft.”
A fantastic full size tube of this moisturiser from The Hero Project. Definitely one to try out.
1 x Leighton Denny mini crystal nail file – Value £12 (small size)
This is a multi-award winning nail file that is guaranteed for 25 years. Maybe this could actually do something for my disastrous nails. Watch this space.
Days 15-17
1 x Studio 10 lip perfecting balm gloss – RRP £22
An “ultra-nourishing lip balm with a high-shine glossy finish. The perfect fusion between a balm, treatment and a gloss, enriched with hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and E, smoothes, hydrates and repairs lips no matter what the season.”
£22 for a lip gloss? Great if you are into that sort of thing.
1 x Diego dalla palma eye pencil 01 Black – Value £14? May be a bit shorter than the standard pencil
“A soft and comfortable pencil. Its special texture ensures immediate release of colour and a high precision line which is easy to blend in.”
Not something that I am likely to use but a good quality product I will pass on to someone else.
1 x 10ml Balance me wonder eye cream – Value £13.33
“A hydrating, brightening and soothing eye care treatment designed to address dark shadows, firm skin and reduce puffiness.”
I do like to try out different eye creams as my eyes often look and feel tired so I’m looking forward to using today’s gift.
Days 18-20
1 x 15ml M&S formula absolute ultimate sleep cream – Value £6.60
The first day after using this cream 2 people I worked with asked if I had lost weight. I’ve tried to use it as much as possible ever since and will save this to take on holiday.
1 x Autograph blusher blush – Value £8
I don’t wear blusher so will pass this brush on. It looks like a decent brush though.
1 x 30ml Living Proof 5-in-1 styling treatment – Value £6.10 (118ml costs £24)
“Delivers styling and treatment benefits in one easy step for smoothness, volume, conditioning, strength & polish.”
I’m looking forward to testing this trial size out as the idea of paying £24 doesn’t appeal. Let’s see what it does.
Days 21-23
1 x 20ml This Works In transit camera close-up mask, moisturiser and primer in one – Value £15
“A handbag essential that reduces redness, smoothest the appearance of wrinkles and leaves skin naturally radiant, it can be used daily or as a top-up whenever needed”
This half-size all in one product promises a lot so I’m keeping it near the front of the queue to try out.
1 x Stila smudge stick waterproof eye liner – Value £16
“This highly pigmented, waterproof eyeliner glides on to deliver intense, vibrant colour with staying power.”
Another high quality make up product that is not really for me.
1 x Autograph luminosity luxe multi bronzer – Value £12.50
Maybe whoever I gift all this make up to could give me some lessons on how to use it as I am building up quite a collection of decent stuff here.
Days 24 and 25
1 x 8ml L’occitane immortelle divine cream advanced anti-aging skincare – Value £12.50 (50ml jar costs £78)
“The immortelle divine cream is a rich, smooth moisturiser which visibly corrects deep wrinkles and improves firmness.”
A cute little jar and a lovely Christmas Eve treat to receive a trial size of something so expensive. I think it’s probably more suitable to those who are 50+ though. Maybe my mum would like it.
1 x 10ml This Works deep sleep pillow spray – Value £6
“Spritzed onto pillows just before bedtime its award-winning, natural, aroma therapeutic super blend of lavender, camomile and vetivert, calms both mind and body – helping to reduce sleep associated anxiety and improve your sleep quality”
I saw these pillow sprays before Christmas and thought they sounded like something worth trying so this was a perfect Christmas Day gift.
Conclusion
This calendar cost £35 if you spent £35 in Marks back in November. The value of all the products comes to well over £270 so it is a fantastic bargain and an excellent way to try out some really quite expensive lotions and make up. There really is something for everyone too.
Not really being a big make up wearer there were quite a few bits I will pass on but I don’t mind that given the wide variety of everything else in the box. I can see this being a yearly treat to look forward to and am now well stocked up for 2019.
